Emotional Rollercoasters

By Jimmy Warden

Emotions can get the best of us
To the point that we’re bringing
Each other
Down.

I don’t know why we do this
It’s not something we would want,
If we really took the time
To think of our ideal.

Our ideal life
Is the ideal
I speak of

What do we think
Would be the absolute best?
When everything is everything
That it could be

Imagine that.

No more crazy roller coasters
That we often call emotions
No more reason for chaos to reign
No need for all that commotion

Instead the richness of the ideal
Is something worth to imagine
As the colors seem a bit brighter
And equanimity is the form

No longer do dark clouds hover
As blue skies rule over the storm
